The Society of Young Nigerian Writers is calling for submissions from young
Nigerian poets residing in Nigeria and outside for Eid-el-Kabir Melodies: Anthology of Poems in collaboration and commemoration
of 2013 Eid-el-Kabir. It is also a platform for Muslim Poets to showcase
their poetic description of 2013 Eid-el-Kabir Festival which seeks to Unite and
bring cooperation among the Muslim folks
in Nigeria. This edition is dedicated to the Late Dr. Lateef Adegbite – (1933-2012)
Secretary General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Language Medium – English, Hausa and Igbo
- Poetry Type – Any
- Participants should be between the ages of 10 and 35
- Poems should be between the minimum of 10 lines and maximum of 50 lines
- Entrants should include the followings alongside their works: state, age, location, short profile, where you heard about the call for entries, telephone number and a sentence of not more than 50 words describing the poem
- Permission to publish your work among the shortlisted entries
- Any signs of plagiarism may disqualify the contestant
- Deadline for Submission: November 16, 2013.
- Only shortlisted entries will be published.
BENEFITS:
- Award of Certificate of Participation to all entrants
- All shortlisted poems will be published (printed and E-book format)
- Automatic Membership into the Society of Young Nigerian Writers
